Football Recap: Mesa Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mesa, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 41-15 margin over the Westwood Warriors on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Jackrabbits in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Boogie Anetema looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 231 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. Kingston Anetema also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mesa's defense and their four sacks. Ruben Reyes Robles refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Mesa got some further help from Ezekiel Estep: he forced one fumble and made 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.

Mesa's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Westwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Mesa will face off against Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 903 yards in their previous games. As for Westwood, they will square off against Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
