Baseball Game Preview: Asheboro Blue Comets vs. Jordan-Matthews Jets

The Asheboro Blue Comets will square off against the Jordan-Matthews Jets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Asheboro will be strutting in after a win while Jordan-Matthews will be coming in after a loss.

Asheboro's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Eastern Randolph. That's two games straight that the Blue Comets have won by exactly five runs.

Grayson Norman looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adam Curry, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Luck, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Jordan-Matthews was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-0 to Seaforth.

Jordan-Matthews' loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Asheboro, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-15.

Everything went Asheboro's way against Jordan-Matthews when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Asheboro made off with a 13-1 victory. Will the Blue Comets repeat their success, or do the Jets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
