Baseball Recap: Living Word Lutheran Takes Down Pardeeville in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Living Word Lutheran rose to the challenge on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Pardeeville Bulldogs 4-2. Winning may never get old, but the Timberwolves sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Easton Oliver made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Oliver wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Weissenburger, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Jackson Oliver, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Living Word Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Pardeeville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-7.

Coming up, Living Word Lutheran will face off against Mayville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Timberwolves surely won't give up without a fight. Pardeeville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
