Volleyball Recap: Allen East Comes Up Short

Allen East was the 3-0 winner over Temple Christian when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers on Tuesday. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pioneers 25-20 in the first set.

Allen East started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22.

Aleena Nickles paced Allen East's offense, picking up 16 kills. Nickles got some help from Ella Downing and her 29 assists. Brynna Contris controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Allen East's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Temple Christian, they moved to 3-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Allen East will challenge Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Temple Christian, they will head out to square off against Spencerville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
