Softball Recap: Hug Gets the Win

Hug was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Wooster on Saturday. Hug put the hurt on Wooster with a sharp 19-4 victory. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered a 7-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Hug got a massive performance out of Alessandra Barrientos, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave Barrientos a new career-high. Victoria Oppmann also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Hug's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Wooster, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
