Basketball Recap: JAELYN BLACKWELL's Big Game Can't Quite Lead First Assembly Christian over Christian Brothers

First Assembly Christian lost against Christian Brothers back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Crusaders took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Purple Wave. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was JAELYN BLACKWELL, who shot 46% from the field to rack up 15 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was EDDIE SUMMERALL, who posted 12 points and six boards.

First Assembly Christian now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Christian Brothers, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, First Assembly Christian will head out to take on Memphis University School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders will need to watch out since the Owls have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Christian Brothers, they will face off against PURE Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Purple Wave will be up against the Royals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 76.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
