Softball Game Preview: Monroe Redhawks vs. Anson Bearcats

Monroe hasn't had much luck against Anson recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:30 p.m. Neither Monroe nor Anson posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Monroe lost 21-1 to Queen's Grant last Wednesday.

Monroe saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kadie Martinez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Anson's offense. They came up short against Parkwood last Wednesday, falling 15-0. The loss continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Wolf Pack: they've now lost seven in a row.

Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Anson, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-12.

Monroe suffered a grim 25-4 defeat to Anson in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Redhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
