Baseball Recap: West Essex's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but West Essex unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Livingston Lancers by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-2 loss two weeks ago.

West Essex's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Livingston, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

West Essex will head out to challenge Seton Hall Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Livingston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Columbia at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Cougars have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
