Basketball Recap: Hunters Lane Comes Up Short

Hunters Lane was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the McGavock Raiders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-51 back in January.

Despite the loss, Hunters Lane still got an impressive performance from Gabriel Deng, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Kenyan Booker, who put up nine points.

Hunters Lane's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for McGavock, their win ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hunters Lane has already played their next match (against Antioch), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. McGavock is taking a road trip to square off against Overton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McGavock is facing Overton at the right time seeing as Overton is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
