It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Madison Southern ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Garrard County Golden Lions 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on five straight.

Madison Southern's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-15. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Garrard County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison Southern will venture away from home to challenge Lincoln County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Garrard County, they will head out to take on Southwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
