Baseball Game Preview: Topsail Pirates vs. North Brunswick Scorpions

The Topsail Pirates will square off against the North Brunswick Scorpions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Topsail is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Topsail is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since April 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of New Hanover by a score of 5-3.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but North Brunswick ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Hoggard 3-2.

North Brunswick saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Stacks, who went 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

Topsail's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for North Brunswick, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.

Topsail skirted past North Brunswick 6-5 in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Scorpions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
