Basketball Game Preview: Midwest Central/Delavan Raiders vs. ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars

The Midwest Central/Delavan Raiders will face off against the ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Tuesday, Midwest Central/Delavan had to suffer through a 77-21 loss at the hands of Deer Creek-Mackinaw. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 497th, while the Chiefs are ranked 70th).

Meanwhile, ROWVA/Williamsfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 57-49 to Biggsville West Central.

Midwest Central/Delavan has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.

Midwest Central/Delavan beat ROWVA/Williamsfield 57-47 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will Midwest Central/Delavan repeat their success, or does ROWVA/Williamsfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
