North Forney and Forney are an even 4-4 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Jackrabbits at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Forney will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: North Forney extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Falcons claimed a resounding 55-28 victory over Lake Ridge. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Eagles are ranked 242nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Forney can attribute much of their success to Legend Bey, who rushed for 181 yards and four TDs on only ten carries, and Cordai Woodard, who rushed for 180 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries. Bey really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.
North Forney didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Lake Ridge to a completion percentage of just 44%. The team can thank Deuce Gilbert for the heroic effort on defense: he. North Forney hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.43 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Forney). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 75-20 win over Boswell. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Jackrabbits with their most commanding win of the season.
Forney had a senior duo take command as Nelson Peterson Jr. threw for 176 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes and Javian Osborne rushed for 136 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine carries. Caleb Chrest was another key player, rushing for 50 yards and one score.
North Forney's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Forney, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. North Forney has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 373.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Forney struggles in that department as they've been averaging 217 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
North Forney didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Forney when the teams last played back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 35-31 victory.
