The Fortune Early College Panthers will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the John Adams Academy Patriots at 7:30 p.m. Fortune Early College has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 514 points over their last seven games.
Fortune Early College posted their biggest victory since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. Everything went their way against John Adams Academy as Fortune Early College made off with a 66-45 victory. Given Fortune Early College's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 527th, while John Adams Academy is ranked 1297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jabari Pugh was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Lark, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, John Adams Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Westlake Charter by a score of 83-76. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Fortune Early College has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-12 record this season. As for John Adams Academy, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
