Softball Recap: Cleveland Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cleveland came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Bradley Central Bears by a score of 5-2. That's more bragging rights for the Blue Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Huntlee Dennison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brylee Cisco, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Allison Farnsworth also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Cleveland now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Bradley Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15-1 record this season.

Cleveland will challenge Hixson at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. The Blue Raiders are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bradley Central, they will take on Signal Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
