Volleyball Recap: Hatch Valley Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Hatch Valley lost against Cobre two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bears came up short against the Indians, falling 3-0. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Hatch Valley was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Cobre's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-13, 25-15.

Cobre found their leader in freshman Kamera Ortiz, who had seven digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Ortiz.

Hatch Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Cobre, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hatch Valley will face off against rival Socorro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cobre is set to take on their familiar foe Hot Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
