Baseball Game Preview: Prairie Central Hawks vs. Olympia Spartans

The Prairie Central Hawks will face off against the Olympia Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Prairie Central has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 17.

Eureka hit Prairie Central with a seven-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hawks came up short against the Hornets, falling 11-5.

Will Skala and Lane Whitfil stepped up to the plate in a big way. Skala got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, while Whitfil went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That home run was Skala's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Olympia came into Wednesday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Deer Creek-Mackinaw by a score of 8-4 on Wednesday.

Prairie Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Olympia, their win bumped their record up to 10-14.
