Basketball Recap: Tenafly Skates Past New Milford with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tenafly). They took their matchup on Sunday with ease, bagging a 69-33 win over the New Milford Knights. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Knights are ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Milford's loss came despite strong showings from Dariel Liranzo and Luis Placido. Liranzo went 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points, while Placido posted 13 points and five boards. The contest was Liranzo's fourth in a row with at least ten points.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for New Milford, their record now sits at 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tenafly will challenge NV - Old Tappan at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th. NV - Old Tappan will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Tenafly surely won't give up without a fight. As for New Milford, they will face off against Bogota at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
