Volleyball Recap: Mankato West's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mankato West came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Spring Grove Lions. That's more bragging rights for the Scarlets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Izabel Kaufmann, who had 14 digs and one assist. Kaufmann has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

Mankato West now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Spring Grove, with the defeat, they broke their five-match winning streak and moved their record to 11-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mankato West will welcome Owatonna at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spring Grove, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against LeRoy-Ostrander at 7:00 p.m.
