Basketball Game Preview: California City Ravens vs. Kern Valley Broncs

The California City Ravens will venture away from home to challenge the Kern Valley Broncs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. California City is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

Last Friday, California City earned a 68-61 win over Bishop Union.

Avery 'Skywalker' Spears and Cassius 'Hollywood' Brown were among the main playmakers for California City as the former almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine boards and the latter went 5 for 12 on his way to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. That's the most points Spears has posted since back in December of 2024. Celeb Dunlap was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Kern Valley came up short against Rosamond on Friday and fell 57-48. The Broncs have struggled against the Roadrunners recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

California City's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.4 points. As for Kern Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

Everything went California City's way against Kern Valley in their previous matchup back in January, as California City made off with an 88-64 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for California City since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
