Baseball Game Preview: Windber Ramblers vs. Richland Rams

The Windber Ramblers will face off against the Richland Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Windber is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.6 runs per game this season.

Windber barely beat Berlin Brothersvalley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Ramblers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Mountaineers a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Ramblers haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Windber let Dylan Woodruff and Lucas Rummel run wild. Woodruff got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs, while Rummel went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Woodruff a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ike Serenko, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

Philipsburg-Osceola hit Richland with a six-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rams lost 14-2 to the Mounties. The Rams have struggled against the Mounties recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Windber's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Windber came out on top in a nail-biter against Richland when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Ramblers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
