Baseball Game Preview: Orange Lions vs. Hawken Hawks

For the second straight game, Orange will face off against Hawken. The Lions are taking a road trip to face off against the Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Orange has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight losses, while Hawken will come in with five straight victories.

Orange fell victim to Hawken and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hawks. Lions fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Hawks since on Monday.

For Hawken's part, not much got past Ethan Gipson, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Orange off the board. Gipson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maddox Ruch, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Eli Mester, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Orange's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Hawken, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
