Softball Game Preview: Central Crossing Comets vs. Sheridan Generals

The Central Crossing Comets will face off against the Sheridan Generals at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Central Crossing's offense. They lost 6-0 to Lancaster on Thursday. The Comets have struggled against the Golden Gales recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Sheridan came tearing into Thursday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Tornadoes as they made off with an 8-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Generals, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Sheridan's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Central Crossing, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
