Soccer Game Preview: L.C. Bird vs. Highland Springs

The L.C. Bird Skyhawks will head out to take on the Highland Springs Springers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. L.C. Bird's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

L.C. Bird fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Manchester on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 3-2. L.C. Bird haven't had much luck with Manchester recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Highland Springs' contest on Tuesday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. Everything went their way against Petersburg as Highland Springs made off with a 5-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Highland Springs.

L.C. Bird's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for Highland Springs, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

L.C. Bird came out on top in a nail-biter against Highland Springs in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for L.C. Bird since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
