Baseball Recap: ALA - West Foothills Comes Up Short

After flying high against Highland Prep last Tuesday, ALA - West Foothills came back down to earth. ALA - West Foothills fell just short of the River Valley Dust Devils by a score of 6-4 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Guardians in their meetings with the Dust Devils: they've now lost three in a row.

ALA - West Foothills saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Kellett, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Kellett hit this season.

ALA - West Foothills' loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for River Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2-2.

Florence's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so ALA - West Foothills' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for River Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Yuma Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. River Valley's pitchers better be ready for this one: Yuma Catholic has averaged an impressive 11.9 runs per game this season.
