Basketball Recap: Grant Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Grant can now relate to. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 50-49 to the Poly Parrots. The loss continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Parrots: they've now lost three in a row.

Poly's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JD Wyatt led the charge by putting up 27 points. Wyatt is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in each of the last 38 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Quian Khawaja, who posted 16 points.

Grant's defeat dropped their record down to 17-14. As for Poly, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 23-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Grant nor Poly have any future games scheduled.
