Basketball Game Preview: Swanton Bulldogs vs. Patrick Henry Patriots

The Swanton Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the Patrick Henry Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Swanton hasn't scored more than 21 points for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Swanton will head into Saturday's game on the come-up: they were handed a 33-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They skirted past Leipsic 21-19.

Swanton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carli Lagrange led the charge by putting up eight points and 13 rebounds. Lauren Bettinger was another key player, posting five points and three steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Patrick Henry). They breezed by Eastwood to the tune of 82-37 on Monday. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Eagles are ranked 609th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Swanton's record is now 3-8. As for Patrick Henry, their record is now 7-1.

Swanton was dealt a bruising 62-21 defeat at the hands of Patrick Henry in their previous matchup back in January. Can Swanton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
