Soccer Recap: Massac County Comes Up Short

Massac County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Murphysboro Red Devils, falling 11-0. While losing is never fun, Massac County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 344th, while Murphysboro are ranked 122nd).

Massac County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Murphysboro, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2-1.

As for Murphysboro, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Central on the 11th.
