Volleyball Recap: Chestnut Ridge Comes Up Short

Chestnut Ridge was the 3-2 winner over Bedford when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions fell 3-1 to the Bisons on Monday. The Lions' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 15-25, 25-21, 25-20.

Leah Vent paced Chestnut Ridge's offense, picking up 12 kills. Vent got some help from Emma Callihan and her 31 assists. Mayci Burkett controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Bedford was led to victory by Taylor Magill and Rylee Lybarger. Magill had 22 digs and four aces, while Lybarger had 14 assists and ten digs. Those four aces gave Magill a new career-high. Leah Nee also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Chestnut Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 2-11-3. As for Bedford, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9.

Chestnut Ridge has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Forest Hills on the 23rd. As for Bedford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Bishop McCort on the 23rd.
