Basketball Recap: Stanhope Elmore Takes a Loss

Stanhope Elmore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 67-59 to the Marbury Bulldogs. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 71-55.

Marbury's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aurelius Reed, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Crenshaw, who put up 12 points.

Stanhope Elmore's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Marbury, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Stanhope Elmore wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 75-59 win against Chilton County on the 6th. Marbury has also already played their next game, a 74-49 defeat against Pelham on the 9th.
