Baseball Recap: Foard Comes Up Short

Foard had lost ten straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 2-17 to make it 11. They lost 10-0 to the East Lincoln Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 back in March.

Foard saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AJ Vogel, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for East Lincoln, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

On East Lincoln's side, Reed Duckworth got the start for East Lincoln and what a start it was: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, East Lincoln got a big performance out of Brandon Washington, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Washington has posted since back in April of 2025. Braden Brotherton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foard will square off against Bunker Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Lincoln, they will face off against North Gaston at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season.
