Softball Recap: Milford Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Milford hadn't done well against Parowan recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Tigers walked away with a 10-6 win over the Rams. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 9-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jaidyn McMullin made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Paizlee Florence was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Mckinlee Curtis, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Milford hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matches.

Milford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.7 runs. As for Parowan, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-20.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milford will head out to challenge Panguitch at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Parowan, they will venture away from home to square off against Water Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
