Baseball Recap: Henderson County Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Henderson County's offense. They lost 6-0 to the University Heights Blazers on Thursday. The Colonels have struggled against the Blazers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Henderson County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maxton Meadows, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Henderson County's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for University Heights, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Henderson County will host Owensboro at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Devils will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Colonels surely won't give up without a fight. As for University Heights, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Warren at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blazers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
