Pershing put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Central Trail Blazers 48-7. Given the Doughboys' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Trail Blazers are ranked 643rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pershing's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 15.8 points per game. As for Central, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Pershing will face off against Denby at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Pershing: 19, Denby: 29.2) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Central, they will square off against Northwestern at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
