Basketball Game Preview: Jersey Panthers vs. Mascoutah Indians

Jersey is 1-9 against Mascoutah since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jersey Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Mascoutah Indians at 7:30 p.m. Mascoutah took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Jersey, who comes in off a win.

Last Saturday, Jersey earned a 59-48 victory over Pittsfield.

John Paul Vogel had a dynamite game for Jersey, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. That's the most points Vogel has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Brunaugh, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Mascoutah's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 62-39 to Belleville West. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered since November 25, 2023.

Jersey's win bumped their record up to 8-17. As for Mascoutah, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Jersey ended up a good deal behind Mascoutah when the teams last played back in December of 2024, losing 62-46. Can Jersey avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
