Football Recap: Malcolm Millsap and Dylan Haley Secure Win for Cherokee Bluff

While Cherokee Bluff's victory against East Hall wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bears sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-49 win over the Vikings on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won five in a row.

A big part of Cherokee Bluff's win came down to the chemistry between Malcolm Millsap and his top target Dylan Haley. Millsap picked up 127 receiving yards and one touchdown while Haley picked up 61 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. That's the most receiving yards Millsap has posted since back in August.

Despite the loss, East Hall still got an impressive performance from Jamarcus Harrison, who threw for 323 yards and four TDs while picking up 15.4 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 138 yards and one score while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Lukas Pruitt, who rushed for 112 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Cherokee Bluff's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for East Hall, they dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Cherokee Bluff will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Peach County at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Bears will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points in their last five contests. East Hall does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
