Baseball Recap: Sarasota Sailors vs. Alonso Ravens
Sarasota and Alonso squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Sarasota had to settle for second. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ravens. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ravens this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on Wednesday.
Sarasota got a good showing from Hamlet Perez, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
At the plate, Patrick Drymon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
This is the second loss in a row for Sarasota and nudges their season record down to 22-8-1. As for Alonso, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season.
Sarasota does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alonso, they will take on Venice at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Ravens 3.3, the Indians 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
