Volleyball Game Preview: Dawson Eagles vs. Seven Lakes Spartans

Dawson and Seven Lakes are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Eagles will challenge the Spartans on Monday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Dawson sitting on 20 straight victories and Seven Lakes on five.

Dawson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Fulshear as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Among those leading the charge was Isabella Tijerina, who had 18 digs. Those 18 digs gave her a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Seven Lakes made easy work of Ridge Point on Friday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

Dawson's win bumped their record up to 40-4. As for Seven Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 27-11.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's match: Dawson has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Seven Lakes struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Dawson beat Seven Lakes 2-0 when the teams last played back in August. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
