Lake had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Eupora Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since March 30, 2024.

Trey Gray was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He has been hot for a while, having also posted at least one stolen base the last 11 times he's played. Wyatt Bell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Lake's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Eupora, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Lake will take on Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Eupora, they will head out to challenge Union at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
