Chaparral barely beat Overland the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolverines blew past the Trailblazers 76-51 on Friday. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Trailblazers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Chaparral was led to victory by Luke Howery and Christian Williams. Howery dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Williams shot 59% from the field to rack up 24 points and seven boards. What's more, Howery posted three steals, the most he's had since back in January. Champ Spears was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Chaparral smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Overland only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.

Despite the loss, Overland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Demetrius Lambert went 5-for-10 en route to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mehki McNeal, who earned 12 points.

Chaparral's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chaparral will take on Rocky Mountain in a tournament on Wednesday. As for Overland, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Mary's at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
