Volleyball Game Preview: Longmeadow Lancers vs. Agawam Brownies + How To Watch

Longmeadow has gone a perfect 10-0 against Agawam recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Lancers will look to defend their home court against the Brownies at 6:30 p.m. Longmeadow is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Longmeadow is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Massachusetts' top teams: Minnechaug Regional, who was ranked 11th at the time (Longmeadow was ranked first). The Lancers came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 2, 2024, but that streak is no more.

The final score came out to 25-17, 15-25, 25-20, 25-18.

Tess Tonsing was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 14 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September.

Tonsing wasn't the only good servers: Longmeadow was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in 14 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Agawam earned a 3-1 win over Chicopee Comp on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Brownies in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won nine in a row.

While Agawam might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Chicopee Comp scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20, 23-25, 26-24.

Agawam's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Longmeadow, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0.

Everything went Longmeadow's way against Agawam in their previous meeting back in September, as Longmeadow made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Brownies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
