Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Salesian's Third in Last Four Outings

St. Mary came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Salesian, but Julien Wiggins wouldn't allow it. The Salesian Eagles walked away with a 67-60 win over the St. Mary's Gaels on Thursday thanks in part to Wiggins, who posted 27 points. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Salesian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for St. Mary's, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-3.

Salesian has already played their next game, a 56-54 defeat against St. Edmund Prep on the 18th. As for St. Mary's, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Holy Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
