Baseball Recap: Hamilton Comes Up Short

After flying high against California Military Institute on Monday, Hamilton came back down to earth. The Bobcats fell just short of the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors by a score of 13-12 on Wednesday. Even though they lost, the Bobcats' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Andrew Salgado made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Alex Velasquez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Hamilton has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. As for Desert Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.

Hamilton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-1 loss against Santa Rosa Academy on the 2nd. As for Desert Christian Academy, they will take on San Jacinto Valley Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
