Soccer Game Preview: Chaparral vs. Douglas County

The Chaparral Wolverines will head out on the road to challenge the Douglas County Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaparral will be strutting in after a victory while Douglas County will be coming in after a defeat.

Chaparral's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Rocky Mountain with a sharp 4-0 win.

Meanwhile, Douglas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 10-0 to Mountain Vista. While losing is never fun, Douglas County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Mountain Vista are ranked 16th).

Chaparral's victory bumped their record up to 4-2-1. As for Douglas County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything went Chaparral's way against Douglas County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Chaparral made off with a 5-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
