Basketball Recap: North Valley Christian Academy Lions vs. Seton Catholic Sentinels
On Friday, the North Valley Christian Academy Lions took a blow against the Seton Catholic Sentinels, falling 63-26. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, North Valley Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Triniti Terracciano posted ten points and six rebounds. Kalina Santor was another key player, putting up four points along with six boards and three blocks.
Seton Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carmella Gallardo out in front who went 9 of 18 on her way to 25 points in addition to seven assists and seven steals. Gallardo continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Dipuccio, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
North Valley Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Seton Catholic, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.
North Valley Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 26-21 victory against St. John Paul II Catholic on the 7th. As for Seton Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 37-34 win against Northwest Christian on the 6th.
