Softball Recap: Summit Takes a Loss

Summit couldn't beat Nolensville on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fifth inning. The Spartans took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost seven in a row.

Audrey Cathey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Anne Marie Richards, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Nolensville, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-10.

Summit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nolensville, they will challenge Brentwood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bruins will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
