Ayala has gone 8-2 against Diamond Bar recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will take on the Brahmas at 3:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Diamond Bar will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Ayala extended their winning streak to three on Saturday. The Bulldogs blew past Walnut 11-1. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Hayden Hovey looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jaden Valenzuela and Jonah Boyd did most of the damage at the plate: Valenzuela went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Boyd scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Valenzuela is becoming a predictor of Ayala's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Trugman, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI.
Ayala was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Diamond Bar was not the first on the board last Thursday, but they got there more often. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over Baldwin Park. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Brahmas this season.
Silas Swartz looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
On the hitting side, Diamond Bar's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carlos Cornejo, who went 3-for-5 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Cornejo has posted since back in February. Matias Gallardo was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Ayala's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Diamond Bar, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-13.
Ayala beat Diamond Bar 3-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2018. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
