Basketball Recap: Polytechnic Has No Trouble Against South Hills

Polytechnic's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past the South Hills Scorpions with points to spare, taking the game 54-38. For the Parrots, this counts as revenge for the 54-29 victory the Scorpions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

South Hills lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ra?Monce Spriggins, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. That was a full 42.1% of South Hills' points, marking the fifth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kingston Mays, who earned four points and seven steals.

Polytechnic's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for South Hills, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which is still a better percentage than their 5-19 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Trimble Tech the next time they take the court. Polytechnic will head out to face Trimble Tech at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while South Hills will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
