Football Recap: Brewster Bears vs. Carmel Rams

Brewster's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Carmel Rams 36-14. That 22 point margin sets a new team best for the Bears this season.

Chase Prohaszka continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 194 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 95 yards and a pair of TDs. His longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards. Tre Ficarra helped out on the ground, rushing for 108 yards and a rushing touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brewster was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 322 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Brewster's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Jack McKenney was especially locked on to Carmel's QB and sacked him four times. McKenney also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brewster will take on Fox Lane at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Carmel, they will square off against Clarkstown North at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
