Softball Recap: Mineola Yellowjackets vs. Redwater Dragons
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mineola had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past the Redwater Dragons 15-5. Considering Mineola has won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Mineola let Caroline Castleberry and Kali Chrietzberg loose on the outfield. Castleberry scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Chrietzberg went 1-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and a stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Lindley, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Mineola has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Redwater, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-19.
